Photography: Just A Click or An Emotion?

“You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”

-Ansel Adams

I was unaware as to how should I capitalize my time and energies in a different way. I had been distant to Photography just because I thought it would not be possible without proper equipment, knowledge and practice.`Times and times again I pondered upon this thought but said ‘No’ to it.

You know when something is destined to happen it happens 100%. This was a memorable trip of my 2015 and I remember I captured my first ‘Emotion’. Now people will say a Hello to what this ‘Emotion’ means here but let me clarify with Mr. David’s quote:

“Don’t shoot what it looks like. Shoot what it feels like.”

— David Alan Harvey

When I captured my first ever emotion successfully it gave me a new direction to step up and do more within what you have. Let me clarify you I am not a great photographer and I don’t run any agency but one thing for sure that this is really worth it. Once you start getting the bliss out of capturing photographs it flows within you. Then you won’t find any excuse. I can guarentee you that you don’t need proper equipment, knowledge and practice to acquire this. I urge to you to stand up, change your lives, pick up your smartphones and any camera equipment and explore what emotionally satisfies you, cheers you up – snap it and enchant with me :

“Which of my photographs is my favourite? The one I’m going to take tomorrow.”

  2. I enjoyed reading your words and not just because I relate to them. It is difficult to explain the “photography” concept however you have dang near painted a picture. I would say the strong quotes are like leading lines. The first one just grabbed me and pulled me in. Such a different way we perceive the world once we start framing things in our mind. I am happy you found my blog and I look forward to more of yours. happy clicking

  3. I had a very pleasant man in Costa Rica tell me my photography was my art, that it conveyed my feelings as I captured the essence of the animals, insects and landscape that I photographed. He was right. I don’t care so much about a viewer being able to count the hairs on my butterflies antennae but rather that they feel its pure joy as it suckles the nectar from a bloom. 💕

  4. I think I need to learn more about “emotional clicking”, cause thus far I only had my pen and the emotions it jotted down on paper…

  5. Ansel Adams didn’t have a Kodak Instamatic or a Smartphone. He had to think before he clicked.

    1. Undoubtedly … But what he tried to explain is that its not just about taking clicks , its about feeling the clicks i.e. emotional satisfaction. If we apply this perspective in modern day world when we have access to array of camera technologies then we can literally change our lives.

  6. How wonderfully written…
